It seems there are a lot of running races and events happening in New England at this time of year, but the Dixville Notch Half Marathon taking place at this favorite NH vacation spot looks like one of the most fun!
Now in its 34th year, the Annual Dixville Notch Half Marathon is set for Saturday, September 25th. The event draws over 100 participants and offers runners a choice of races: a USATF-certified half-marathon, a two-person relay 6-mile and 7.1-mile event, or a four-person relay with three 3-mile legs and one 4.1-mile leg. Axe throwing is one event planned for the resort's "Grand Lumberjack Challenge."
This New Hampshire vacation spot will be hosting a two-day “Grand Lumberjack Challenge” in mid-September, and if you watch ESPN or Outdoor Life much, you may recognize some of the contestants who have been featured there.

The Nansen jump attracted Olympic Trials in the 30s.
When the Nansen Ski Jump went up on the Berlin/Milan line in New Hampshire, not far from this New England Resort, it was the tallest ski-jump tower in the U.S. That was 1938. Wikipedia.org lists the jump’s frame height at over 170 feet with a vertical drop of 225 feet. The first Olympic Trials occurred there that same year. Read More »
