Welcome back to The Balsams kitchen! Executive Chef Josh Berry has taken a film crew behind the scenes at this NH grand hotel to capture his methods of creating some of the famous dishes he serves to guests in the elegant dining room here, so that home cooks can also prepare and enjoy his gourmet meals.
This video is the second in a series that feature Chef Berry as he takes us through all the steps of fixing a dish, served up with a dash of food history as well as tips on ingredients and technique. We are down to the final three days of the Inn-Bedded Resorter Search and the candidates continue to campaign to prove themselves worthy to be in the top three. Their campaigns began at this NH vacation spot where each candidate made a spirited presentation to many of the Hotel’s Management Team, staff, and guests. Although each presentation was unique, they all took place in the famous Balsams Ballot Room, where Jerry Owen cast the first vote followed by the Resort Management Team and Hotel guests. Jerry has worked at The Balsams for over 40 years and is now the Hotel’s Reservations Manager.

Last month, we told you that The Balsams Grand Hotel located in The Great North Woods is a prime spot for leaf peeping. This month, I wanted to give you a first hand view of what guests gaze upon during the fall season. On a crisp and windy day earlier this week, I shot video of the wonderful autumn scenery and foliage surrounding this NH resort.
