Is this a New England vacation trend? A tech company unplugs its employees and escapes to a New England resort to relax and revive.

37signals is an electronically-linked, Chicago-based software company.  Their employees are spread around the world to some extent, connected more by technology than geography.

Last fall, company brass brought the entire 37signals team to a remote New England resort for three days.  It gave them the chance to bond a bit in this idyllic corner of the “real world.”

Must-Watch Video: New Hampshire Hotel Combats Oil Dependence

Last month, The Balsams blogging team produced a podcast of the New Hampshire hotel’’s strategic partnership to preserve the environment.  The Balsams also has a pro-environment approach to its daily operations that extends even to its power-generating process.  For example, here is a video tour of a facility most guests seldom visit, a place where patriotism and self-sufficiency mix with environmental friendliness.
