The Balsams went into hibernation this past weekend…that’s when workers closed down this NH hotel to prep it for ski season.

    Presidents Who’ve Stayed at this NH Grand Hotel

    dixville notch 300x224 photo (famous hotel guests)History and tradition abound at this NH grand hotel.  For example, you may know that New Hampshire is the first state to vote in the presidential primary.  But did you also know that Dixville Notch is the first town to vote in each primary as well?  Citizens gather in The Balsams’ Ballot Room at midnight on primary day to cast their votes.
