Heidi and Mark Placy
When Heidi and Mark Placy first became engaged, they weren’t sure when they were going to “tie the knot,” but were “thrilled to be entering a new stage… and wanted to enjoy every moment of it.” About a month into their engagement, Mark’s father became terminally ill, and the couple’s priorities changed. “He wanted to see his son get married and we wanted him to share in our special day,” said Heidi. “The question became, ‘How can we plan a wedding within weeks and still work full time?’ The answer was simple, we made a call to Mrs. Ahrens and explained our situation.”

When Roseann Saridakis came to The Balsams on a vacation in the early ’90s, she never expected to learn a skill that would change her life.
