It seems there are a lot of running races and events happening in New England at this time of year, but the Dixville Notch Half Marathon taking place at this favorite NH vacation spot looks like one of the most fun!
Now in its 34th year, the Annual Dixville Notch Half Marathon is set for Saturday, September 25th. The event draws over 100 participants and offers runners a choice of races: a USATF-certified half-marathon, a two-person relay 6-mile and 7.1-mile event, or a four-person relay with three 3-mile legs and one 4.1-mile leg. For three days in August, athletes from all over the world will come to this New England resort to conquer some of the region’s toughest terrain in the Untamed New England 2010 Adventure Race. Nearly 200 adventure racers are expected to meet at The Balsams Grand Resort Hotel in Dixville Notch, then set out on a 3-day trial of mountain biking, canoe and kayak paddling, trail running, off-trail trekking, orienteering, and rope work.
