Hale Cottage

Hale Cottage is a very unique “Craftsman’s Home.”  It is the former residence of Henry Hale, who owned The BALSAMS from 1895-1920.  HaleCottage offers beautiful views of Lake Gloriette and The Notch. This private cottage allows a perfect opportunity for small gatherings who appreciate a private and beautiful setting in the middle of nature.

Situated just a few hundred feet from The BALSAMS  historic hotel, beyond a towering stone archway, Hale Cottage is available for both group and family rentals and can accommodate 13 adults with ease as well as children.

Winter reservations at Hale Cottage require a two-night minimum; summer reservations require a three-night stay.

Guests of Hale Cottage also have a unique opportunity to experience The BALSAMS Chef prepare meals right in the cottage. Hale Cottage also served as a training facility for chef apprentices, therefore it has a top-notch kitchen.  For an additional fee, guests at Hale Cottage have the chance to hire their own private chef for their stay.
