Winter provides countless opportunities to explore the White Mountains. The BALSAMS offers you an opportunity to ski for free while you experience our renowned dining and hospitality! The BALSAMS boasts over 75 kilometers of excellent Cross Country trails, in addition to 16 unique alpine trails. Our other resort activities such as ice-skating, snow shoeing and entertainment are also popular winter activities. Guided hikes & group ski lessons are also available. Sleigh Rides
Dick Brady and his team of percherons will visit Dixville Notch on weekends to provide a wonderful sleigh ride on his 7-person sleigh. The adventure lasts for about 45 minutes on a cross-country trails near the Wilderness Ski Area Base Lodge. The fee is $20 per adult, children are complimentary if they sit on a lap.
